Dubai, a city in the United Arab Emirates, is renowned for its upscale shopping, exciting nightlife,  exquisite architecture and VARIETY OF DELICACIES.

1. Khuzi/Ghuzi

The national dish of the UAE Khuzi, comprises roasted lamb or mutton served on steaming rice. It is accompanied by vegetables and nuts for a hearty and delicious meal. Khuzi is one of the most well-liked dishes in Dubai, which may be a whole meal in and of itself.

 

  

 

2. Balaleet

A popular breakfast choice of the Emirates. This is a sweet and savoury dish made of sweet vermicelli topped with eggs. It is spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, saffron and orange blossoms, and then topped with pistachios. Balaleet is sometimes served as desert and can be eaten hot or cold.

  

3. Al Machboos 

This is an Arabic rice dish consisting of meat, rice and vegetables. Al machboos is a dish made of red meat, chicken or shrimp boiled in stock with spices and dried lime powder. When the meat is tender, the pieces are taken out and the rice is cooked with the stock.  The dish is considered to be flavoursome and delicious 

 

4. Luqaimat

This delicacy is a deep-fried dumpling that is covered with sesame seeds and nuts before being dipped in honey or sugar syrup and served. It is the most well-liked dessert in Emirati culture.

 

 

  

5. Al Harees

Another culinary marvel is Al harees. Wheat and salt are used to make the dish, which is then boiled until it resembles porridge and is then baked or boiled again with chicken or lamb chunks as garnish.

 

 

 

 6. Knafeh

 It is a delicious dessert formed of melted cheese pie and is covered with either kataifi noodles for a crispy crust or ground dough for a softer texture. And before we forget, loads of sugar syrup is also used  in its preparation.

 


 

7. Margoogat

An important feature of Emirati cuisine. Margoogat is a savoury stew with a tomato base that combines traditional arab spices. It is served with potato and is cooked with chicken or lamb.

 

 

 

8. Chebab

These delicious Emirati-style pancakes are normally served at breakfast time. They’re crammed full of sour cheese and sweet date syrup, then heated. The cooking process causes the sweet and sour elements to combine, with a flavour that's a little like a rich, boozy Swiss fondue.

  

 

9. Tahteh maleh

Tahta means layers and maleh refers to salty fish, so the dish is a layer of salty fish under rice. People with high blood pressure should avoid eating too much of this dish due to the high salt content. Malih is frequently found in Dubai, with the most commonly available variety being made with yellowfin tuna.

 

 

 

10. Shawarma

Shawarma would undoubtedly be included on this list! This delicious delicacy must be tried by anyone travelling to dubai. Shawarma is a large sheet of flatbread that has been toasted or steamed and is filled with thinly sliced meat, sometimes chicken, beef, goat, lamb or turkey. Foods like carrots, french fries, hummus, and pickles  are included inside this wrap.
